Living Desktop Habitats - Aquarium ("the app") is published by iPath System LLC. This policy explains what information the app processes on your PC, what it sends (nothing to us), and what Microsoft handles separately.
Summary
The app does not transmit personal information to us. It processes and stores limited information on your PC, as described below. It has no app account, no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no third-party tracking code.
Microsoft Store
The app is sold through the Microsoft Store. To know which add-on habitats you own, it asks Windows for your Store licences. When you choose an add-on you don't own, it opens the add-on's page in the Microsoft Store app. "Redeem a code…" opens Microsoft's redeem page (account.microsoft.com) in your browser, where you enter a promo code; the app never sees the code.
The app does not make direct network requests. Microsoft Store licensing, purchases and redemption are handled by Windows, the Microsoft Store app or your browser, which may connect to Microsoft. Licences, promo codes, purchases and payments are handled by Microsoft, not by us, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Microsoft may provide us with sales and diagnostic reports through its publisher tools. These reports are provided by Microsoft under its privacy statement.
What the app keeps on your PC
The app saves a few files on your PC so it can pick up where it left off:
- Habitat state and settings: the fish and plants in each habitat, and your choices (habitat, lighting, graphics quality, sound, launch mode, whether to start with Windows).
- Desktop icon positions: when the app runs behind your desktop icons it reads where your icons are, so that clicks on an icon don't feed or startle the fish. A backup of their positions is kept to help restore their positions. Windows identifies each icon by its file path, which can include your Windows user name.
- Log files: technical messages from the app and the game engine (for example, the graphics card model), used only for troubleshooting. They can include file paths, which can include your Windows user name.
These files are kept in the app's local data folder, which Windows removes when you uninstall the app. The app does not upload these files.
Mouse and screen
Behind the desktop icons the app watches the mouse pointer's position and button presses on the bare desktop, so the fish can react to your clicks. It does not record, store or send them, and it ignores clicks on icons, other windows and the taskbar. The app does not capture your screen.
Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages. It does not transmit personal information from anyone, including children.
